Forty years ago – I was a student walking to my lectures - it first stopped me, in the middle of a street.

It dawned on me that I hated the storm of guilt, worry, fear and tension I swam in.

Thus started my life of research in popular psychology and self-help. I wanted to understand and change. I studied many great teachers and got many fantastic advice. And each piece helped me a lot.

For about six hours.

You see, being of a technical mind (my line of work is technical), I could not accept something whose innards I could not understand. And psychology was like holding water in my hands – it always slipped away. And technique which worked wonderfully today, stopped working tomorrow. So I rowed on.

Thankfully, in the last couple of decades, a lot of new science waded in. It provided explanations that I had missed and that finally made logical sense. And boom – forty years after that first stroke on the street – the hidden doors to inner temple have opened.

It was a shocking revelation, and I could not let it go away. So I wrote this booklet, hoping that the secret might be as valuable to its readers as it has been to me.

This is not an elaborate dissertation. It is more of a map, a jumbled book of notes meant to give you a start, a firm foothold in the world that is slippery, cheating and sly. Happy adventuring!
